Wilmington's Tallis Chamber Orchestra has a special performance on Saturday, March 25th at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Tallis received funding through the Landfall Foundation to bring a guest artist to town for the performance and for community enrichment through orchestra classroom visits and a Master Class. That guest artist is violinist Jacqui Carrasco, an international soloist and chamber musician from Wake Forest University.

Carrasco will perform classic Bach with Tallis Chamber Orchestra, but she is also an accomplished avant-garde and contemporary classical performer-a great asset when working with young musicians.

The highlight of Carrasco's performance with Tallis Chamber Orchestra is Bach's Violin Concerto in E Major. She clearly loves the piece and compares it in style to the Brandenburgs. Listen to Carrasco talk about contemporary classical music, working with students, and this Concerto above.

Here is a fun video of Carrasco performing Violin Bonkersby Kenneth Frazelle.
