Communique: "Art Of Resistance" Gala At Athenian House | Saturday, 8/11

Athenian Press and Workshops holds Art of Resistance Charity Gala & Exhibit Saturday, August 11 at the Athenian House on Wrightsville Avenue. In addition to the exhibit and auction, the event features poetry, live music, and uncensored conversation.

On August 11th, Athenian hosts the Art of Resistance Charity Auction Gala. This live art auction welcomes artists from a variety of mediums that use their art to speak out as a form of revolution and resistance. All pieces exhibited respond to equality, identity, feminism, culture, social change, justice and the socio-political climate.

DJ: Coast 97.3, featured music by Entangled Dreams and others. Food, drinks, and live entertainment with featured artists from the NY, DC, NC, and across the Southeast area.

The charity auction will support Athenian Press & Workshops' and our work with LINC, Inc. Domestic Violence Shelter and Services, Wilmington, NC Coastal Horizons RCC and our mission to help cultivate women, femme, and gender variant writers from marginalized trenches.
