CAPE FEAR MEMORIAL BRIDGE: Updates, resources, and context

CoastLine: Rep. Deb Butler on what She's Working for in NC Legislature's Long Session

ncleg.net

Susi Hamilton held the House seat in North Carolina’s 18th District for three terms and was recently elected to a fourth.  She resigned near the end of January – after new Democratic Governor Roy Cooper tapped her to lead the state’s Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.

Deb Butler easily won the appointment by the Democratic Party and took her oath of office on February 6th to represent the District -- which covers parts of Brunswick and New Hanover Counties.  While this is her first time holding state office, it’s not the first time she’s had it in her sights.  In 2012, she challenged Republican Senator Thom Goolsby for his seat and lost.

Representative Deb Butler joins us for a pre-recorded interview as she is currently in Raleigh during the current long session on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Guest:

Representative Deb Butler (D-New Hanover County), District 18, North Carolina House
