Wednesday, April 20, 4 pm

The Ruth & Bucky Stein Theatre

Winner of the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival and 2016 Oscar winner for the Best Foreign Film, this powerful and gripping Holocaust drama follows concentration camp inmate Saul (Géza Röhrig), who is tasked with burning the dead. When he discovers the body of his young son he must choose between participating in the clandestine uprising being planned among the prisoners, or securing a proper Jewish burial for his child. (Rated R, 1 hour 47 mins)

“Brutal and brilliant, "Son of Saul" may be the most harrowing film ever made about the Holocaust, which should give you an idea of how hard it is to watch.”- Tom Long, Detroit News

“On the whole it's daring and committed, and in Röhrig's tremendously focused performance, it honors all the saints we'll never know.”- Ty Burr, Boston Globe
