“The Lovers” is a refreshing, funny look at love, fidelity, and family, starring Debra Winger and Tracy Letts as a long-married and completely dispassionate husband and wife. While in the midst of serious affairs and committed to their new partners, but on the brink of officially calling it quits, they discover a spark between them that suddenly and unexpectedly rekindles their passion. This leads them into an impulsive romance that forces them to navigate the hilarious complications of "cheating" on their respective lovers. A mixture of humor and powerful emotion, the story is a uniquely honest take on modern marriage.

From the critics:

The Lovers is buoyant and cheerfully flirty, though Jacobs never loses sight of the fact that loneliness that can strike both inside a marriage and outside it, and no human being is ever fully protected from suffering. Stephanie ZacharekTIME Magazine Writer-director Azazel Jacobs finds buoyant comedy and touching gravity in the ashes of a relationship. Above all, give yourself over Winger and Letts-they are perfection. Peter TraversRolling Stone
