Today I talked with director Thom Clemmons and actress Sydney Nobles about Brunswick Little Theatre’s production of Nunsense 2: The Second Coming at Odell Williamson Auditorium on the campus of Brunswick Community College. 

Today I talked with George Edwards from Historic Wilmington Foundation about the upcoming Azalea Festival Home Tour (Saturday 12:30 to 6, Sunday 1 to 4). 

"Ticket to Taste" was an event to raise funds for the non-profit Interfaith Refugee Ministry, which is settling a large community of Burmese immigrants in Wilmington. Jamie Mills is the Executive Director. 

Karen Smith talked about the 59th Annual Cape Fear Garden Club Azalea Garden Tour.  It’s next Friday though Sunday, 10-6 daily (except for Airlie Gardens, which is only participating on Saturday).  Eleven private and two public gardens are featured.

Today I talked with Tom Briggs, artistic director of Thalian Association Community Theatre.  They opened a play last week on the mainstage of Thalian Hall, a wacky musical called The Drowsy Chaperone.

Michelle Parkin of PPD and Chris Scott of Lower Cape Fear Hospice both attended Leadership Wilmington, and through that, came to head up projects for Work on Wilmington.  Work on Wilmington is a half-day of service to New Hanover County’s non-profits, when over 1500 volunteers do special building or repairing or beautifying of the sites chosen. 

I spoke with David Hardin, Public Information Officer for Cape Fear Community College. David brought with him Frank Carter, chair of the Department of Humanities & Fine Arts.  There’s a ribbon cutting and grand opening of the Hanover Gallery at CFCC on Friday afternoon at 3PM. 

Pat Hairston and service dog Angel were my guests today on the Midday Interview. Their event, "Walk for Those Who Can't" will take place on Saturday, March 24th from 9AM to 12PM at Hugh MacRae Park.

Today I talked with Stephen Fields, Director of the Carolina Vocal Arts Ensemble.  Their March 24 concert is at Winter Park Baptist Church and is called Something Wonderful: The Musical Genius of Rodgers and Hammerstein. 

 The show is on Saturday night at 8 in Kenan Auditorium.
