Asia is a recent graduate of the Creative Nonfiction Writing Program at UNCW. A Virginia native, she completed her B.A. in Communication Studies at James Madison University in Shenandoah Valley. In addition to writing, singing, and making delicious off-the-cuff meals, she hopes to continue to make fine music and reliable news available to the local community.

Time-Out Chair

Asia Brown struggles, like all of us, with the difference between what we want to say - and what we actually do declare.  While spending time ruminating between right vs.  less appropriate words in an official Time-Out Chair, Brown channels her inner - and sometimes outer - Janet Jackson, to find the courage to make the funkiest choice possible at any given moment.

150 People Gather in Support of Pardoning the Wilmington Ten

Forty years ago, 10 civil rights activists were falsely convicted of charges stemming from the firebombing of a white-owned grocery store in Wilmington. All were sentenced to a total of 282 years in prison, part of which they served until 1980, when their sentences were overturned. Last night, WHQR’s Asia Brown attended a rally to kickoff a national campaign to pardon those known as the Wilmington Ten.

State Publishes Scam Guide
