In case you weren’t aware, WHQR listenership has skyrocketed
in the past year to record levels – more people are listening to public radio
in the Cape Fear Region than ever before! This is great news for our station
and for our corporate underwriters who seek to reach our listeners through
their support of our programming.
While this growth is exciting, it is placing increasing
demands on our resources, as we are the only public radio station in the area. As a result, our Fall Pledge Drive, October 10th through the 19th, is important in helping us achieve our fundraising goals.
One way that your business can help is by becoming a
Corporate Challenger. Corporate Challenges provide a unique opportunity for
local businesses to demonstrate support for WHQR. Our research has shown that
listeners pay very close attention to which businesses are supporting the
station during Pledge Week, and hold a much more positive image of companies
who support the station with their dollars. The Challenges that air throughout
the Drive provide an important incentive for listeners to make that
all-important pledge, particularly those listeners who have never pledged to
public radio. Your Corporate Challenge
support provides significant leverage in helping WHQR to reach our goals
throughout the Drive.
All Corporate Challengers receive on-air promotion targeted
to a specific segment of WHQR’s audience. As you may know, public radio has one
of the most desirable demographics of any media source – high income, educated,
sophisticated decision-makers. If you are trying to reach other business
owners, executives, and leaders of the community, then becoming a Corporate
Challenger during Pledge Drive is a cost-effective way to do just that.
Please join us this Fall in helping support WHQR Public Radio and its mission.
