The WHQR Ambassadors act as a working body that ensures the continuing vitality of WHQR. The group supports the station and its mission through volunteer community outreach and education, promoting and strengthening the station's programs and services, cultivating membership and assisting with the station's expansion of service to the greater community.
PURPOSE
The WHQR Ambassadors strive to
- Provide a source of independent council to WHQR
- Volunteer to help with station functions and events as well as administrative tasks
- Provide social and educational opportunities for fellow Ambassadors
- Connect WHQR to the community and raise awareness of WHQR through outreach and relationship building programs
- Seek opportunities to introduce public radio and WHQR as learning tools in regional school and colleges

The WHQR Ambassadors are an important link between WHQR and the community which it serves. Ambassadors volunteer their own time to existing programs and events and develop new activities that incorporate the strengths of the Ambassadors as well as the interests of the community. Just as important, the Ambassadors have the opportunity to get to know other WHQR members who care about the station and our region and love giving their time for a worthwhile cause that truly benefits from their contributions.
